French delegation visited the Passenger Port

29 November 2019

On November 28, 2019, the delegation of the city hall of the partner city of Le Havre, France, visited the Passenger Port. The visit was organized by the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg. The delegation was led by the mayor of the city, Mr. Jean Baptiste Gastin. Alexey Panfilov, Commercial Director of “Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC acquainted the guests with the history of the creation of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg and the adjacent washed-in territory, existing infrastructure opportunities, and also informed about development projects.

Representatives of the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between the ports, in particular, the issue of organizing cruises departing and arriving in St. Petersburg with the involvement of French passengers.
At the end of the event, Mr. Jean Baptiste Gastin, mayor of the city, and Hugo de Chavagnac, Consul General of France in St. Petersburg, left wishes to the port in the book of honored guests.

Le Havre is a city in northern France in the Normandy region, located 197 km from Paris. It has direct access to the sea and the English Channel, and is the “sea gate” to Paris: due to developed transport infrastructure cruise passengers have an opportunity to go on an excursion to the capital of France.

Today, the port is the largest in France in terms of its area and volume of operations, specializing in oil products, containers and cruise liners. The port has 3 specialized cruise berths and can simultaneously accept 4 cruise ships.
