Representatives of "PP of SPb MF" PLC participated in the international exhibition MATKA 2016.

The exhibition  MATKA which was held in Helsinki from 21 to 24 January 2015 is the largest exhibition of Northern Europe in the tourism sector. In 2016 it was attended by representatives of 80 countries, the number of exhibition booths exceeded 1000, while the number of registered participants - 20,000 people.

On the booth VISIT RUSSIA which brought together representatives of the tourist community of St. Petersburg and regions such as Karelia, Tatarstan and Udmurtia were posted materials about Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.

Also during the exhibition for market professionals was held a conference "Tourism potential of modern Russia." The Conference was opened by the word of Alla Manilova - Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, in which she noted the importance of the first tourist office of Visit Russia opened in Helsinki in 2015 and outlined plans for implementing programs of cross-tourism in 2016-2017. It has been said about the importance of tourism for national economies as a major source of jobs for the population. The Deputy Minister also identified water tourism as one of the priority directions of development of tourism in Russia. Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Sergey Korneev in his speech emphasized the challenges to promote a new tourism infrastructure and tourist programs. Chairman of the Committee for Tourism of St. Petersburg Inna Shalyto made a presentation about the development of tourism in the city noting that in 2015 the city was visited by 6, 5 million people which is a record and announced the victory of St. Petersburg in the category Best European Destination 2015 according to World Travel Awards. Inna Shalyto separately noted the need for collaboration between Russia and Finland to attract tourists from China the number of which in 2015 increased by 2.5 times.

As part of the performance of "PP of SPb MF" PLC guests of the conference were provided with information about the history of the Port and the results of its work during the operations as well as plans for the nearest future  including the reconstruction of the checkpoint in the port and the establishment ofv a year-round ferry service . Also, representatives of "PP of SPb MF" PLC stressed the importance of solving the problem on the use of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg cruise companies as a home port.
