Representatives of St.Peterburg and Kotka discussed the prospect for cooperation in marine tourism

On June, 8th on the board of the St. Peter Line ship - Princess Maria a meeting on cooperation agreement was held between the Administration of Kotka, "PP of SPb MF" PLC, Port of Hamina-Kotka and Cursor Oy.
The meeting was attended by the mayor of Kotka Mr. H. Lindelof, representatives of “PP of SPb MF" PLC , the Head of FSBI "The Administration of the Baltic sea ports", the Captain of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg, CEO of St. Peter Line, representatives of the Federal Agency for Tourism, Port Hamina-Kotka, Inflot Worldwide Rus, Cursor Oy, GVA Sawyer and Astra Marine.
Upon an initiative of “PP of SPb MF" PLC this meeting was held to discuss the status of “mirroring” projects in St. Petersburg and Kotka and role of St. Peter Line as potential operator in ferry traffic between Finland and Russia.
The parties agreed to cooperate on a regular basis in a working group including representatives of ports, ferry operator, FSBI "The Administration of the Baltic sea ports", and Cursor Oy. 
Participants discussed the prospects for visa-free travelling by sea transport to Finland for citizens of the Russian Federation.  It is expected to be implemented as pilot project for sea route between St. Petersburg and Kotka. Also parties discussed current projects for the reconstruction of port infrastructure and outlined necessary conditions for establishment of a regular ferry connection between cities.
In conclusion Mr. V. Kashirin director general of “PP of SPb MF" PLC approved the vector of development of future cooperation of the parties. Mr. H. Lindelof invited all  to visit the Maritime Festival  in late June in Kotka and the Kotka Day in St. Petersburg on September, 28th.
As previously reported, the project for the reconstruction of the border check point at Passenger Port of St. Petersburg and the establishment of a regular ferry connection between St. Petersburg and Kotka is implemented within the framework of  the cross-border cooperation program of European Neighbourhood instrument "South-East Finland-Russia 2014-2020".
