18.07.2014 outcome of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg «Marine Facade» at «equator» of summer navigation

The middle of summer - time to sum up the first half of 2014 cruise navigation.

During the period from January 01 to July 15, 2014 passenger traffic of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" was 266,182 passengers, which is 9.28% more than in the same period last year. During this time the passenger port received 135 ships. Just before the completion of navigation in 2014 still planned 111 ship calls and will be accepted 213,198 passengers.

The most significant events that occurred during this period:

April 26, 2014 in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg came cruise ship Discovery (Cruise & Maritime voyage), which has become the earliest call in the history of navigation of the Passenger port since 2008. Early opening of navigation this year, as well as the completion of the longest cruise navigation in 2013 November 30 (ship's Black Watch) confirms interest of cruise lines to make calls at St. Petersburg in the so-called "low" season.

In May, for the first time in the passenger port berthed - Asuka II (NYK Cruises);

Special event in the life of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg was set on May 18 when the largest in the history of the Port 330-meter cruise ship Royal Princess called the Port, owned by the company «Carnival Corporation & plc».

In June Passenger port for the first time visited MS Louis Aura (Louis Cruises) and Horizon (CDF Croisières de France). In the same month, Passenger Port of St. Petersburg at the same time served seven ships simultaneously twice - on 25th and 26th June.

Record day of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg in the summer season in 2014 was 1st July, when the boards of seven vessels descended 14,204 passengers.

July 6, 2014 in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg opened the exhibition "Russian Pilots in the service of the Fatherland" dedicated to the activities of pilotage services in different historical epochs. The exhibition is timed to the Workers of sea and river fleet which is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of July.
