A delegation from Greece has visited the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg

On December 12, 2018, a delegation of business representatives of the Greek Republic came the Passenger port of St. Petersburg as part of a business visit with the purpose to organize cooperation with the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Facade”, JSC The delegation included representatives of such companies as Anek Lines, represented by the managing Director Ioannis Vardinoyannis, Litinus Group, represented by its Director Ioannis Litinas, and PrimeBulk Shipmanagement LTD represented by Nicolaos Coronis.
 
     

Vardinogiannis Group is one of the most efficient and successful financial and industrial groups in Greece, uniting more than five dozen enterprises from various economic sectors. The group's interests include companies engaged in sea cargo and passenger transportation, as well as companies engaged in the sectors of energy, exploration and production of hydrocarbons, hotel construction and operation, etc. Anek Lines is one of the largest companies on the Adriatic sea, carrying out cargo and passenger transportation. It owns a modern fleet consisting of 9 ferry vessels. PrimeBulk Shipmanagement Ltd is a leading independent merchants fleet management company providing its clients with cost efficient marine and consultancy services. 
During the negotiations, the delegation representatives together with the management of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Facade” JSC discussed the prospects of creating a joint venture aimed at launching a marine passenger transportation company in the Baltic region. The Greek party expressed its readiness to deliver one of its vessels to the Baltic basin for the above mentioned purposes in the near future based on the results of the necessary audit and after the settlement of all organizational issues. Representatives of the delegation got acquainted with the history of the Passenger port of St. Petersburg, existing infrastructure opportunities and prospective development projects.

     

In the afternoon, together with the management of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Facade” JSC the delegation visited "Nevsky town hall", where a business meeting with representatives of the relevant committees of the executive bodies of state authority was held at the investment Committee of St. Petersburg. A Memorandum of cooperation aimed at creating a sea passenger transportation company in St. Petersburg was signed following the results of the meeting. The Memorandum stipulates for the creation of the relevant working party and the development of the road map of the project as the first stage of cooperation.
