Meeting on the organization of passenger handling during navigation 2019

17 April 2019

The traditional meeting with tour operators on the eve of the opening of the summer navigation 2019 was held in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.

Tour operators officially announced the opening of navigation 2019 in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg, as disclosed plans for the number of ship calls and passenger traffic for the next season. The meeting noted the changes in the existing Rules of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg in 2019 in terms of planning of passenger and transport handling, while representatives of the state regulatory authorities talked about innovations in migration and customs legislation. Successful application of the timeslot system in the organization of passenger handling will this year apply to all vessel calls during the first day of stay of vessels in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg. This system benefited the last year’s navigation, which was noted by the management of cruise lines, CLIA, St. Petersburg state executive authorities, and, of course, tour operators.
E. V. Pankevich, the Chairman of the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee, stressed the importance of cruise tourism for St. Petersburg and invited tour operators to inform arriving tourists about the city events. The contribution of the Passenger port of St. Petersburg to the development of cruise tourism in the Baltic Sea was noted and words of gratitude to its management were expressed.

At the meeting, the port management announced information on a number of investment projects, the completion of which is scheduled for this year. In particular, in the summer of 2019, it is planned to complete the first stage of reconstruction of Passenger port of St. Petersburg berth No. 7 with the construction of portable bollards. By the end of the year, construction and installation works will be completed and a cargo and passenger Russian Federation state border checkpoint will be put into operation, as well as a sports and recreation facility, the services of which can be used by residents of Vasileostrovsky district and other areas of St. Petersburg.
We wish successful navigation to all participants of the cruise market and the tourist community!
