A delegation from the Republic of Latvia visited the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg

On March 26, 2019, a delegation of the Republic of Latvia paid a business visit to the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg. The delegation was headed by the Deputy state Secretary of the Ministry of transport of the Republic of Latvia Uldis Reimanis. The delegation included representatives of the Freeport of Riga, the Freeport of Ventspils and the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Russian Federation. On the Russian side, in addition to the management of the Port, Deputy Chairman of the Transport Committee A.V. Lvov, as well as representatives of the St. Petersburg External Relations Committee took part in the negotiations.

     

The guests were told about creation of the Passenger port of St. Petersburg and the adjacent alluvial territory, the existing infrastructure  and promising development projects, as well as about the opening of ferry navigation on March 23, 2019 at the Marine Station, which has been managed by Passenger Port of St. Petersburg «Marine Façade» JSC since 2018.


During the meeting, the representatives of the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of maritime passenger transport and the possibility of developing a network of routes in the Baltic region.
