13 May 2019

The representatives of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” at the invitation of the Committee for the Development of Tourism of St. Petersburg took part in the solemn celebration of the 830th anniversary of the Port of Hamburg, Germany, held during May 10-12. Together with the Passenger Port, the stand of St. Petersburg was represented by different enterprises of the tourist complex of the Northern capital and St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution “City Tourist Information Bureau” of the Committee for Tourism Development. Visitors to the stand could get the necessary information and reference materials about St. Petersburg, guidebooks and maps, as well as ask questions. In particular, visitors to the exhibition were interested in the visa procedure in the Russian Federation, duration of the cruise season in the Northern capital, possible cruise routes and sights of the city.

It is worth reminding that the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg concluded the Memorandum of Understanding with the administration and the cruise terminal of the Port of Hamburg.
The priority areas of cooperation involved the development of the attractiveness of cruise tourism, including the arrangement of cruises in low seasons and the ensuring of the most attractive conditions for sea passengers by developing the infrastructure of ports, improving the quality and extending the list of rendered services. Also, the Memorandum of Understanding involved the increase of intensity of information partnership, experience exchange, joint participation in events concerning the development of cruise tourism and other areas of cooperation.

The event ended with celebratory fireworks that all the guests of the festival, including students of sail training ships (MIR and Krusenstern) traditionally taking part in one of the largest maritime holidays in Europe, could see.
