Representatives from the Port of HaminaKotka have visited Passenger port of Saint Petersburg.

21 October 2015

During the business visit representatives of the Port of HaminaKotka familiarised themselves with the infrastructure of Passenger port of Saint Petersburg, its history and plans for further development. The delegates have noted the high quality of port infrastructure, convenient location and transport accessibility of the Port.

Within the framework of the meeting the parties have agreed to develop bilateral relations and to sign a cooperation agreement, which, together with the already signed cooperation agreement between the cities of Kotka and St. Petersburg, will mark the beginning of partnership between the two major ports of Finland and Russia. Main purpose of the agreement is to settle the participation of the Port of HaminaKotka in the checkpoint reconstruction project of Passenger port of Saint Petersburg, and, in turn, the participation of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC in the reconstruction project of the old cruise and ferry terminal at the Port of HaminaKotka.

An event to celebrate the signing of the bilateral cooperation agreement is to be held in December 2015 during the visit of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC representatives to the Port of HaminaKotka.
