“Passenger port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Fa?ade” PLC at the round table on “Creating a comfortable and safe environment in St. Petersburg as a priority of the tourism policy of the city”

Representatives of “Passenger port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC participated in the round table on “Creating a comfortable and safe environment in St. Petersburg as a priority of the tourism policy of the city” held on December 2nd at the Taleon Imperial Hotel, St. Petersburg.

The event was organized by the City Tourist Information Bureau of the St. Petersburg Committee on the Development of Tourism. Representatives of the St. Petersburg diplomatic corps constituted the majority of the participants. Security and comfort of foreign citizens arriving to St. Petersburg for tourism were the main topic of the round table.

The Chair of the St. Petersburg Committee on the Development of Tourism Inna Shalyto opened the event with an introductory speech. Among the speakers there also were representatives of the St. Petersburg division of EMERCOM of Russia, the Committee on Law, Order and Security,  Federal Migration Service of Russia for St. Petersburg and Leningrad District, Northern Capital Gateway Consortium and “Passenger port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC.

Representative of “Passenger port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC made a presentation and a report about the measures taken by the company to ensure comfort and security of tourists at the port – the passengers of cruise and ferry vessels that come to St. Petersburg during Baltic Sea cruises and ferry tours. One of the principal discussion topics at the round table was the issue of personal belongings theft in places of tourist activity. Participants have agreed that resolution of this issue would be an important step towards improving the image of the city and increasing its tourism attractiveness.
